The Sarma dining table is a product of Railis Design's deep-rooted inspiration from the epic history and beauty of Iceland. The table is handcrafted from reclaimed oak and solid wood, combined with metals such as copper, brass, and bronze. The design team's commitment to preserving the natural pattern of the wood's unique edge is evident in the intricate copper inlays that fill the natural wooden gaps.

What sets the Sarma apart is its unique blend of luxury and sustainability. The table is made from reclaimed oak, topped with a fine copper inlay, and finished with three coats of clear epoxy resin. The high gloss finish, coupled with trapezium legs coated in fine copper, gives the table a luxurious feel while respecting the environment.

The creation of the Sarma table involves a meticulous process. The reclaimed oak top is carefully inlaid with copper, while the solid wood legs are coated with copper. The table is then finished with crystal clear epoxy resin. The table measures 200cm x 100cm x 75cm and weighs around 150kg, making it a substantial and striking piece of furniture.

The Sarma table is not just a static piece of furniture, but a living entity that changes over time. The copper used in the table will age and darken, adding a sense of life and evolution to the piece. This table, delivered to a client in December 2015, was handcrafted in every detail over two months.

The design process involved extensive research, particularly in finding the perfect epoxy resin for a shiny and durable finish. The team experimented with different woods and metals, eventually discovering the ideal temperature and reaction base. The challenge was to fulfill the client's dream of a unique dining table that combined both old and modern elements. The result is a luxurious, modern design that respects the environment and looks luxurious at the same time.

The Sarma table's unique design and sustainable approach have not gone unnoticed. It was awarded the Silver A' Furniture Design Award in 2017, a prestigious accolade given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The Sarma table, with its mix of rustic and chic elements, is not only functional but also gives a room a theme and a personality.
